It is seen as a subset of artificial intelligence. Machine learning algorithms build a mathematical model based on sample data, known as "training data", in order to make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed to do so.
Machine learning is closely related to computational statistics, which focuses on making predictions using computers. The study of mathematical optimization delivers methods, theory and application domains to the field of machine learning.
This course starts out defining several areas related to Machine Learning and what it covers. The second part of this course describes the Python libraries that are used in getting the data analyzed. And the third part of this course goes through a hands-on exercise to introduce getting simple information output than moves to using the Python libraries to create charts to analyze the data from a CSV file. This course requires first taking the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Basic Python course.
